Rank tracking software for SEO agencies
Made for agencies.
Loved by the experts.
In the world of SEO software, you can’t really call your solution “enterprise” unless you designed it specifically for digital agencies.
Luckily, we’ve been working with large SEO agencies from the very beginning—and it shows.
We built STAT from the ground up with agencies in mind, especially the unique challenges they face in serving SEO clients from a huge range of industries all at once.
Today, that’s a big part of the reason why several of the world’s top digital marketing agencies use STAT. They’ve been migrating to STAT largely thanks to word-of-mouth, as SEO professionals talk to each other about their experiences using large-scale SERP tracking tools.
“We definitely win more business with STAT.”
We’re quickly able to get a view of the search landscape for a potential new client’s industry, and show the client things about their site’s performance — and their competitors — that they had no idea about.

Room to grow
The number one thing that brings digital agencies to STAT is our ability to scale.
We founded STAT on the idea that it should be cost-efficient and ridiculously simple to track thousands—even millions—of keywords in markets and locations all around the planet.
There is literally no limit on how many keywords you can track every day. And we track all across the world, in every single country, language, and location that’s served by Google.
The same goes for tracked sites: there’s literally no limit. This is critically important for inbound agencies, who are typically tracking dozens or hundreds of domains for each and every SEO client. That often includes full-scale, direct tracking of competitor sites, for a comprehensive picture of the entire SERP—something that’s only feasible with a SERP tracking solution that’s priced with massive scale in mind.
We don’t do tiered packages and we don’t put any artificial ceilings on the number of sites you can track. You only ever pay for the keywords you’re actively tracking.
Flexibility to experiment, research, take risks
Yes, STAT is big. But it’s also designed for flexibility and experimentation—both of which are vital for digital agencies that are always striving to pitch new business and stay ahead of the curve.
Bring 100,000 keywords into STAT. Run them in a few locations for a few days. Then switch things up. Track in new locations. Switch to mobile SERPs. Track some competitors. Then pause them all. STAT never gets in your way.
In fact, we make it easy to suspend your tracking on anything from single keywords to whole sites. You aren’t charged a penny for paused sites or keywords, and you can start tracking again at any time. That’s especially handy as your clients’ projects cycle through active and inactive periods, and makes it super easy to ramp a project back up on a moment’s notice.
Importantly, when you pause your tracking in STAT, all of your historical site metrics and ranking data remain available, and you’ll still have access to a fully parsed SERP archive for seasonal and trend research.
Your SERP data always belongs to you, and you’re free to export and integrate it via our API at any time.
Collaboration is free, billing is transparent
Great SEO calls for a lot of great collaboration. So when software solutions put up roadblocks around user accounts, it costs agencies more than just money.
In STAT, there’s no limit on users and no per-seat fees or licensing. Very simply, that means you can set up as many accounts as you need—for your team, for your clients, and for your vendors. (Give the office dog an account if he’s really into SEO. We won’t stop you!)
Project sharing and user permissions are set one by one, so you can give clients total transparency into their keyword tracking without taking the risk that they’ll mess with anything or see anything they shouldn’t.
Your billing is all broken down clearly by user and by site, so you’ll always know exactly what’s costing what and where to attribute the costs.
Staying on top of everything
Rank tracking can be intimidating, especially when you have so many client projects on the go. Great management, segmentation, and alerting is absolutely critical.
In STAT, you can tag your keywords with any number of custom tags. These are essentially custom segments that you can use to slice and dashboard your keywords in any number of ways—for example, by product category, by searcher intent, by content type, or by any other factor that’s important to your SEO strategy and client’s industry.
There are also dynamic tags. They’re automatically populated with keywords based on simple, logical rules, just like a smart playlist. For example, you could create a dynamic tag that contains all of your keywords with search volume over a million or a CPC value over $5.00. As search volumes and CPC numbers are updated, the keywords within the dynamic tag will update as well.
Finally, STAT’s custom alerts can be a lifesaver for busy, multi-tasking SEO teams. You can base an alert on any tag, keyword, or site metric. Since fresh search data arrives every single day in STAT, if you’re clever in setting up your alerts, you’ll always be the first to know when change happens on client SERPs.
“STAT really helps build trust with our clients.”
You feel like you have a relationship with a person and not just some random help desk.

Common Questions
from agency SEO teams
-
How can I use STAT to pitch new business?
Our agency clients tell us that this is one of the biggest reasons why they love STAT so much.
You can import truckloads of keywords, track them against as many sites and in as many locations as you want, and your SERP data will be waiting for you by the time you get into work the next day. Overnight, you’ll have a comprehensive snapshot of your prospect’s entire competitive landscape, ready to export and mine to your heart’s content.
Remember: you can pause your tracking at any time without losing any of your historical data. So go ahead and be ambitious—you don’t have to worry about blowing through your tracking budget for the sake of a pitch meeting.

We work with a large roster of SEO clients. How can STAT help us stay on top of our reporting?
Reporting to a lot of clients at once can be a big challenge. For many agency SEO teams, the ability to set up recurring reports in STAT makes all the difference.
You can set up scheduled reports that are generated automatically on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. They’re fully customizable, and you can base them on whole sites, on any custom keyword segment, or on any single keyword.
There’s a whole range of report types for every bit of data that STAT collects:
- Organic result details like ranking URL, result title, and result description.
- Google universal result details like result type (e.g. answers, PAA, video, maps, news, images, etc.), landing URL, result title, and result description.
- Search volumes, including global and regional (i.e. national) metrics.
- Cost-per-click (CPC) for every keyword.
A download link will be emailed to you (and anyone else you specify) when the report is ready, so you don’t even have to go into the STAT app.
All in-app reports are provided as no-nonsense, unformatted CSV spreadsheets, which makes it very straightforward when it comes to rolling the data into your own internal reporting system.
Some lesser-used data is only available via the STAT API, but we’re always coming up with new ways to take advantage of it in our in-app reporting.

What if I need to track thousands of sites?
Not a problem. Our clients include some of the world’s largest online brands, with hundreds or thousands of web properties and competitor sites across the globe.
In fact, if your tracked sites share the same keyword sets, you’ll be surprised at how cost-effective multi-site tracking can be.
-
How can I manage so many sites and keyword sets at once?
Site syncing makes it really simple to keep any number of websites synced up with a single parent site.
When you first set up a synced site, the entire keyword set from the parent site—including associated settings like markets, locations, device types, and custom tags—will be duplicated. When you update the parent site’s keywords in the future, every change will also be reflected in your synced sites.
This is useful if you have a number of similar web properties, or if you want to track several competitor domains. They’ll all stay up to date without you having to manage them individually.
-
How can I use custom alerts?
When you’re tracking thousands of keywords for multiple web domains, instant alerts can be a lifesaver and a major competitive advantage.
In STAT, fresh search data arrives every single day. So if you’re clever in setting up your alerts, you’ll always be the first to know and the first to take action when change happens on the SERPs.
Alerts are completely customizable, giving you the power to monitor the metrics that matter most to your project and to set your own performance thresholds and comparison timeframes.
You can create alerts based on any of the site and keyword data that STAT collects for you, including individual keywords, custom keyword segments, and whole-site metrics.
-
Can I create unique accounts for my clients or vendors? Can I stop them from making changes?
Definitely. In STAT, all user permissions are set at the project level.
So you can create any number of accounts for clients and vendors. And then you can give individual accounts read-only access to certain projects, so they can look but can’t touch.
-
How do I know how much each site or project is costing me? Can I get billing breakdowns?
Yup, those breakdowns are built right into your account management tools.
You can see cost breakdowns by site, by project, and by user, including how many unique keywords and duplicate keywords are being tracked for each.
This is especially handy for SEO agencies with multiple clients or in-house teams with several offices that don’t share budgets.
-
Do I have to track all of my sites and keywords continuously? Or can I “pause” them?
No worries—STAT makes it simple to pause tracking on single keywords, single websites, or even entire projects.
This is handy for seasonal SEO efforts and for one-off research and experimentation. Digital marketing and SEO agencies find it especially useful for managing lots of client accounts as they switch back and forth between active and inactive.
You aren’t charged for paused keywords. All of your historical data for inactive keywords stays in STAT, so you can access and export it at any time.
-
How can I use my historical SERP archive? How long does STAT retain that data?
In addition to using their historical data to benchmark their SEO progress over time, many of our clients use their SERP archives for seasonality and trend research. It can be a huge volume of invaluable data, so the possibilities are almost endless.
As a part of our standard service, we retain all of your keyword data for two years, and raw SERPs for 10 months. If you need longer, you can export your data via our API, or you can always talk to us about extending your data retention.
-
How many countries and languages does STAT support?
We’re able to track in every market and language that Google supports across the globe. Thanks to our clients, we are now actively tracking in over 100 nations.
To avoid any confusion, please note that the STAT web app itself is available only in English. For easier collaboration between international teams, we give our clients the ability to import translations of their search terms in any language.
-
What about highly local SERPs? Can you track by neighbourhood? By postal code?
You bet—we support any kind of search location that Google does, no matter how specific.
That’s especially important for mobile SERP tracking, since mobile users tend to have location services enabled and so receive highly localized search results.
-
How much extra do you charge per user?
Nothing at all! We believe that the best SEO happens when people are free to collaborate. So we never charge per seat.
Every STAT client gets uncapped user accounts for their team and for their clients.
-
Who are you people?
Just a bunch of people who love big data and great SEO. Since 2009, we’ve been providing fresh, location-based search data for some of the world’s largest and nimblest online brands and SEO agencies.
