“STAT just works. I don’t need to stress about having the data I need to make decisions.”
We needed a tool that can handle lots of keywords and didn’t limit us to bundles that we have to ration out across different clients.

Common Questions
about our rank tracking app and API
-
Can I create unique accounts for my clients or vendors? Can I stop them from making changes?
Definitely. In STAT, all user permissions are set at the project level.
So you can create any number of accounts for clients and vendors. And then you can give individual accounts read-only access to certain projects, so they can look but can’t touch.
-
How do I know how much each site or project is costing me? Can I get billing breakdowns?
Yup, those breakdowns are built right into your account management tools.
You can see cost breakdowns by site, by project, and by user, including how many unique keywords and duplicate keywords are being tracked for each.
This is especially handy for SEO agencies with multiple clients or in-house teams with several offices that don’t share budgets.
-
What kinds of reports can I create?
Between our web app and API, you can create recurring or one-off reports for whole sites, for any custom keyword segment, or for any single keyword.
There’s a whole range of report types for every bit of data that STAT collects:
- Organic result details like ranking URL, result title, and result description.
- Google universal result details like result type (e.g. answers, PAA, video, maps, news, images, etc.), landing URL, result title, and result description.
- Search volumes, including global and regional (i.e. national) metrics.
- Cost-per-click (CPC) for every keyword.
Some lesser-used data is only available via the STAT API, but we’re always coming up with new ways to take advantage of it in our regular app reporting.
-
Can I automate my reports?
Yes. You can set up scheduled reports that are generated automatically on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis.
A download link will be emailed to you (and anyone else you specify) when the report is ready, so you don’t even have to go into the STAT app.
-
What about custom reporting and analytics? Can you do that?
Sure, we do custom reporting all the time for our clients.
Depending on the complexity of the reporting and the level of customization, there is an additional fee for those services. Just talk to us if you have something specific in mind.
-
Which web browsers do you support?
We have active development support for all recent versions of Chrome and Firefox for Windows and OS X, as well as Safari for OS X.
Most other standards-compliant desktop browsers play perfectly nice with the STAT web app.
-
I hate lock-in. What happens to my data if I decide to leave STAT?
We hate lock-in too. Your data always belongs to you, and you’re free to export it from the web app or through the API for as long as you’re a client. We’ll even help you do so if you need a hand.
We don’t believe in putting up artificial roadblocks. If our product is a good match for you, and if you love our service, then we don’t have to worry about losing you.
-
Are any of your SERP metrics proprietary?
Nope. We believe in total data transparency, because even the smartest SEO analyst can’t do anything with a metric that nobody understands.
If our clients have any questions about how we derive certain metrics, we’re always happy to explain it in detail.
-
What about my proprietary keyword data? Is it kept all safe and cozy and private?
Our distributed system is private and highly redundant, and we’ve never lost any client data or had a compromised account.
Importantly, unlike several other enterprise SEO software providers, we’re committed to never using private client data to power any other software or toolsets that are available to the public or other clients.
-
How much extra do you charge per user?
Nothing at all! We believe that the best SEO happens when people are free to collaborate. So we never charge per seat.
Every STAT client gets uncapped user accounts for their team and for their clients.
-
Tell me more about your API.
Absolutely. For security reasons, we have a soft ceiling on API calls, but if you need to do more, we just raise the ceiling for you.
Some of our larger clients choose to use our separate, specialty bulk API services for Adwords ads, full parsed SERP archives, or raw HTML SERPs. These are billed extra by site and are completely separate from our standard, no-holds-barred API.
-
How can I get all of my data out of STAT?
In the STAT web app, it’s as simple as right-clicking on any table to export as a CSV spreadsheet. You can also create scheduled reports so that all of your key data is exported to spreadsheets regularly.
For higher-volume exporting, we have the API. That also allows you to integrate STAT’s metrics into your own internal data warehousing.
-
How many countries and languages does STAT support?
We’re able to track in every market and language that Google supports across the globe. Thanks to our clients, we are now actively tracking in over 100 nations.
To avoid any confusion, please note that the STAT web app itself is available only in English. For easier collaboration between international teams, we give our clients the ability to import translations of their search terms in any language.
