We’re looking for someone with the know-how and experience to keep a growing tech company running like clockwork.

ABOUT US
We do big data for enterprise SEO.

Since 2009, we’ve equipped SEO professionals with fresh, location-based search data at massive scale—all backed up by one-on-one expert service. That’s how we’ve built a client base that includes some of the world’s largest and nimblest online brands and SEO agencies.

ROLE
Here’s what you’ll be doing:

As our office administrator, you’ll be our key person responsible for guarding against chaos.

  • You’ll keep our accounts, payroll, and other records squared away.
That includes assisting with client billing and always making sure we’re paid up with vendors. Since we’re a young company, you’ll have plenty of opportunity to find better, slicker ways of getting things done—so you’ll never be stuck doing it the stupid way.
  • You’ll keep us on-schedule and well-stocked.
In addition to making sure the office is well-stocked with the kinds of things that make companies run smoothly, you will be working closely alongside the founder to manage schedules, set up meetings and phone calls, and make travel arrangements. You’ll never, ever be asked to pick kids up from daycare or take in any drycleaning—we promise.
  • You’ll help bring polish to everything we do.
We have lots of correspondence, media releases, newsletters, blog posts, presentations and so on going out the door, and you’ll be there to guarantee that it always looks great and reads perfectly. From time to time, you’ll also be bringing your organizational experience to special projects on top of your day-to-day responsibilities.

REQUIREMENTS
Here’s what we’re looking for:

  • You’re ready to take charge.
We need somebody who has at least least two years experience in office administration. You should know your way around all of the standard office productivity software, and be ready to dive right in and start helping to make our company better, smarter, and more efficient.
  • You love the details.
We’re looking for a person who knows exactly how big of a difference a misplaced decimal can make. That means strong attention to detail, solid writing and editing skills, and a burning hatred for unnecessary apostrophes.
  • You’re not too surly.
Although this role is not focused on sales support or client service, you will occasionally need to field calls and emails from current and prospective clients, vendors, and partners. It would be nice if you didn’t scare the bejeezus out of them.
  • You don’t need micromanaging.
“Self-starter” is kind of a weasely word, but that’s exactly what we need. We’re a smaller company doing big things, and we’re changing every day. You’ll only be a great fit if you actually look forward to wearing several hats, taking total ownership of tasks and problems, keeping yourself focused and organized, and holding yourself to a certain standard. This is a crazy challenging role and it will keep you on your toes.

Bonus points for:

  • Experience working in related industries, including software, technology, digital marketing, or SEO.
  • Knowing your way around Salesforce.
  • Familiarity with WordPress, Illustrator, Indesign, and Acrobat.

PERKS
A few side benefits of working here:

  1. Everyone gets an extra two weeks paid vacation leading up to New Year’s.
  2. Shorter summer hours on Fridays to take advantage of that elusive Vancouver sunshine.
  3. Free gym memberships (including the swanky little gym across the street).
  4. Full medical package including dental, optometry, prescriptions, massage, and physio.

CULTURE
Some more reasons why you’d want to work with us:

  1. You want to play a big part in growing a young, profitable company.
  2. You do your best in a setting where excellent work is what’s valued—not long hours. (A good work-life balance is just how we do things.)
  3. You’d like to work somewhere where you can wear your old hoodie—or your crisp new suit—and nobody is going to mind.
  4. You’re looking for a big challenge that involves lots of variety, collaboration, and on-your-toes thinking.
  5. You can see yourself joining a tight team in an open and collaborative Gastown office where you might sometimes see a dog zipping around.
